801 MT COY ASC

The standard establishment of an A.S.C. M.T. Company was 5 officers, 1 warrant officer, 3 sergeants, 12 artificers and 60 rank and file. On 23rd September 1916 when the 801st MT Company was formed, 1 NCO and 30 men were taken on strength, by the 28th of September the Company consisted of a Captain, 2 NCOs and 59 men, however there were probably at least 2 other officers, one of whom wrote the war diary entries, but their numbers are not recorded in the early entries of the war diary.
